Gilat Satellite Networks to be acquired by consortium of private equity investors

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. has entered into a definitive merger agreement for the company to be acquired by a consortium of private equity investors that includes The Gores Group LLC, Mivtach Shamir Holdings Ltd., companies affiliated with Roy Ben-Yami, Ami Lustig and Eytan Stibbe and DGB Investments, Inc. in a transaction valued at approximately US$475 million.

FCC approves Orbcomm’s next-generation constellation

Orbcomm Inc. has received a modified space station authorisation from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approving its next-generation Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation plan.

COM DEV completes testing of AIS nanosatellite

COM DEV International Ltd. said it has successfully completed an end-to-end ground-based test of its advanced AIS payload and nanosatellite. The company also provided an update on its acquisition of the Passive Microwave Devices product line from L-3 Communications.

Boeing submits GOES R proposal to NASA

Jules Verne ATV completes two days of testing

Navigating for the first time with a laser-based optical system, the Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) today moved to within just 11 metres of the ISS’ docking port, ESA said. An escape manoeuvre then concluded this second day of tests in orbit.

Successful qualification firing test for Zefiro 23

On 27 March 2008, the second stage motor for Vega – Europe’s new small launcher – successfully completed a static firing test at the Salto Di Quirra Inter-force Test Range in Sardinia, Italy.
