Canada shoots down ATK-MDA deal

Alliant Techsystems (ATK) said it was today informed that the Canadian Minister of Industry has disapproved the sale of Canadian-based MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates’ Information Systems and Geospatial Services businesses to ATK.

Genesis I completes 10,000 orbits

Genesis I, the first test module launched by commercial space habitat developer Bigelow Aerospace, has completed its 10,000th orbit around the Earth. The unmanned module is about to start its third year in space since its 12 July 2006 launch.

NASA successfully completes first series of Ares engine tests

NASA engineers have successfully completed the first series of tests in the early development of the J-2X engine that will power the upper stages of the Ares I and Ares V rockets, key components of NASA’s Constellation Program.
