WorldSpace orders sat-radio chips from STMicroelectronics

STMicroelectronics recently signed an agreement with WorldSpace Satellite Radio to develop, manufacture and distribute chips for European Satellite Digital Radio (ESDR) receivers planned for a WorldSpace pan-European and Middle East service offering, starting with Italy in 2009.

Launch of new Orbcomm satellites set for 19 June

Orbcomm Inc. announced that it intends to launch six satellites — the Coast Guard Concept Demonstration satellite and five Quick Launch satellites — on 19 June 2008 from the Russian Kapustin Yar launch facility at approximately 0630 UTC.
