New U.S. weather satellite successfully launched

Rocket: Delta II 7320-10C; Payload: NOAA-19 [NOAA-N Prime, NOAA-N’]; Date: 6 February 2008, 1022 UTC; Site: Vandenberg Air Force Base, USA. Following a 65 minute flight, the weather satellite was deployed on its mission to improve weather forecasting and monitor environmental events around the world.

Boeing SBSS system progressing toward first launch

GPS next-generation design reviews, programme demos

The GPS Next-Generation Control Segment Squadron (OCX) recently completed two System Design Reviews (SDR) and two Modernised Capability Engineering Model (MCEM) demonstrations with contractors Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, the U.S. Air Force said in a statement.

Raytheon submits final proposal for GOES-R ground segment

Raytheon Company has submitted its final proposal for the development of the ground segment for NOAA’s (U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) next-generation Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite R series, known as GOES-R.

Progress M-01M undocks from ISS

Russia’s Progress M-01M cargo spacecraft undocked from the International Space Station and will become a temporary space lab before being de-orbited, Mission Control said.
