Use of Satellite Technology in Broadcasting

With growing popularity of satellite broadcasting technology, there have emerged numerous companies providing complete satellite services in terms of TDM/TDMA solutions, Internet over satellite, multi-media over satellite, teleport services, TV broadcasting including DTH and Radio Broadcasting solutions. In order to provide these services some of the most interesting antennas working in Ku, eKU, DBS & C band are utilized. Due to the windfall in the satellite technology, it is now possible to link remote provinces to the main switching network through implementing point to Multipoint solutions, Point to Point solutions, Broadcast and Multicast applications, depending on the budget.

Electronics technology has truly evolved in this day and age. It has now become more developed, more advanced, and well-improved. One very evident proof to this notion is the birth of the high definition television or more commonly known as the Hi-Def TV. People in almost all parts of the globe are now actually going crazy over the Hi-Def TV. And the very big question is why? Well, this is simply because they do believe that a Hi-Def TV would mean Hi-Def TV channels to watch and that it can provide them quality pictures of images on their TV screens as well.

Dnepr lofts six satellites in cluster launch

Rocket: Dnepr; Payload: DubaiSat-1 (United Arab Emirates), Deimos-1 (Spain), UK DMC-2 (Great Britain), NanoSat-1B (Spain), AprizeSat-3 and AprizeSat-4 (USA); Date: 29 July 2009, 1846 UTC; Site: Baikonur, Kazakhstan. Launch service provider ISC Kosmotras said the launch was successful.

Qualification of Falcon 9 first stage tank and interstage completed

Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) said it successfully completed qualification testing for the Falcon 9 launch vehicle first stage tank and interstage. Testing took place at SpaceX’s Texas Test Site, located just outside of Waco, Texas, USA.

Goodrich says ORS satellite programme moves forward

ProtoStar crashes to bankruptcy over slot row

ProtoStar Ltd. filed for bankruptcy protection along with five affiliates and said it was looking to sell its satellites. It was revealed that the company had earlier this year been forced to shut down one of its spacecraft because of a dispute over the geostationary slot it uses.
