Next shuttle launch date set

Space shuttle Endeavour is set to begin a 13-day flight to the International Space Station with a launch on 7 February from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Lift-off is planned for 0939 UTC, making this the final scheduled space shuttle night launch (04:39 a.m. local time).

EMCORE awarded solar panel manufacturing contract from ATK

EMCORE Corporation has been awarded a contract by ATK Space Systems to manufacture, test, and deliver solar panels for ATK’s UltraFlex solar arrays. These solar arrays will be used to power the Orion spacecraft being developed by Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company for NASA.

NASA to launch three CubeSats along Glory next autumn

NASA will launch small research satellites for several universities as part of the agency’s Educational Launch of Nanosatellite, or ELaNA, mission. The satellites are manifested as an auxiliary payload on the Taurus XL launch vehicle for NASA’s Glory mission, planned for lift-off in late November.
