NASA’s latest solar observatory launched

Rocket: Atlas V; Payload: Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO); Date: 11 February 2010, 1523 UTC; Launch Site: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, USA. The SDO mission was successfully launched aboard an Atlas V 401 configuration and it used a single common core booster powered by the RD-180 engine.
