Raytheon wins contract to develop next-generation GPS control segment

The U.S. Air Force has selected Raytheon Company for an initial contract of US$886 million to develop a new element of the Global Positioning System to improve the accuracy of information from GPS satellites.

NASA and Italian space agency find new use for module

NASA and the Italian Space Agency announced a new use for an existing Multi Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) known as “Leonardo.” It will be transformed into a Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) for the International Space Station.

Governments world-wide invest a record US$68 billion in space programmes

International research and analyst firm Euroconsult announced that world-wide government expenditures for space programmes grew by 10 percent in 2009 over 2008, reaching an historical peak of US$68 billion.

DSCS B8 achieves 10 years in service
