Launch of first GPS IIF satellite further delayed

The launch of the United Launch Alliance Delta IV with the Air Force’s Global Positioning System IIF SV-1 satellite (or GPS IIF-1 for short) is tentatively rescheduled for 28 May (UTC).

Ascent Unit for Badr 5B launch assembled

NASA develops enhanced search and rescue technologies

The Search and Rescue Mission Office at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, in collaboration with several government agencies, has developed a next-generation search and rescue system, called the Distress Alerting Satellite System (DASS).

DirecTV Or Verizon FiOS TV?

DirecTV is the giant of Satellite TV business where as Verizon FiOS TV is a new comer into the cable TV business but is quite a big name in the telecom industry. Due to the increase in competition DirecTV fights to remain number one in the satellite TV business while the newcomer Verizon moves it pawns towards grabbing the market share with its FiOS TV package.

It seems that television is offering more and more choices in the quality of picture these days. It used to be that you had one option–and it was black and white. For you to be able to get to one of the other channels, you had to physically reach out and turn a knob, and the television set itself was large, though the screen was small.
