Atlas V lifts secret U.S. military satellite

Rocket: Atlas V 501; Payload: NROL-41 (USA 215); Date: 21 September, 0403 UTC; Launch Site: Vandenberg Air Force Base, USA. The rocket carried a classified satellite for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

Three more Ariane 5 launches in 2010; ATV delayed to 2011

The Board of Directors of Arianespace approved the launch manifest for 2010 and 2011, which includes a delay of the launch of the Johannes Kepler ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle).

Boeing and Ball Aerospace announced SBSS readied for launch

Boeing and its teammate Ball Aerospace & Technologies announced that the Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) satellite and ground system have completed final testing. The satellite is scheduled to be launched on 25 September from Vandenberg Air Force Base.

Mobistar takes Astra capacity

SES Astra announced that the Belgian telecom provider Mobistar has launched a new “Mobistar TV” offer that will include digital and High Definition TV channels received from the Astra satellites.
