Minotaur I launches ORS-1 from MARS

Rocket: Minotaur I; Payload: ORS-1; Date: 30 June 2011, 0309 UTC; Launch Site: Wallops Flight Facility, USA. Following the flight of the four-stage rocket, the ORS-1 spacecraft was deployed into its intended orbit 12 minutes after lift-off.

PSLV-C17 to launch GSAT-12 on 15 July

Preparations for the forthcoming launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C17) carrying India’s communication satellite GSAT-12 are progressing well at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, ISRO said. The launch of PSLV-C17/GSAT-12 mission is targeted for 15 July 2011.

Unorthodox methods save Cluster mission

GeoEye-2 CDR completed

The Lockheed Martin team developing GeoEye’s next-generation, high-resolution Earth-imaging satellite, known as GeoEye-2, has successfully completed the Space System Critical Design Review (CDR) two weeks ahead of schedule.

How to Watch TV on a Computer Screen

The quality of pictures, on our flat TV screens, has increased greatly. But pictures shown on computer screens are usually sharper than those shown on flat TV screens. Can TV programs be watched on our computer screens? Yes they can; this approach is called “Internet TV.”

Russia gives up GEO-IK-2

Russian Space Forces have declared the GEO-IK-2 satellite a total loss. The spacecraft ended up in a useless orbit after launch aboard a Rokot/Briz-KM in February 2011.

MDA receives amendments to Radarsat constellation design phase
