China plans to launch Bolivian satellite at the end of 2013

China plans to put Bolivia’s first telecommunications satellite into orbit in December 2013, China’s Ambassador to Bolivia Shen Zhiliang was quoted as saying.

MSU delivers satellite to NASA for upcoming launch

Morehead State University Space Science Center staff and students delivered the Cosmic X-Ray Background Nanosatellite (CXBN) to NASA’s Launch Services Program on 6 January. CXBN was developed by MSU and partners during the past year and passed rigorous space environment testing and a series of design reviews, culminating in the flight readiness review held on 31 December.

ARISSat-1 completes mission

On 4 January 2012, the amateur radio satellite ARISSat-1/KEDR ended its mission as burnt up in Earth’s atmosphere.

U.S. mini-shuttle spying on Chinese orbital module? Not likely

A yet-to-be-published report claims that the U.S. Air Force’s X-37B “mini shuttle” was spying on China’s Tiangong-1 space lab. According to many experts, this seems to be rather far-fetched.
