Orbital receives order for Minotaur I launch vehicle from USAF

Orbital Sciences Corporation announced that the U.S. Air Force has exercised an option order for a Minotaur I space launch vehicle to support the ORS-3 “Enabler” mission for the Operationally Responsive Space (ORS) Office of the Department of Defense.

Final system tests for SBIRS GEO-2 completed

Lockheed Martin has successfully completed a major milestone for the U.S. Air Force’s second Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) geosynchronous satellite (GEO-2). The milestone, known as the Final Integrated System Test (FIST), verifies the spacecraft’s performance and functionality in preparation for delivery to the launch site.

JWST flight recorder delivered to Northrop Grumman

The solid-state electronics unit that will capture the James Webb Space Telescope’s science and engineering data has been completed and delivered to Northrop Grumman Corporation by its teammate SEAKR Engineering, Inc., Centennial, Colorado.

INSAT-2E completes 13 years of successful operation

Nearly 1 Billion Smart Connected Devices Shipped in 2011 with Shipments Expected to Double by 2016

Framingham, Mass., April 3, 2012– The universe of smart connected devices, including PCs, media tablets, and smartphones, saw shipments of more than 916 million units and revenues surpassing $489 billion dollars in 2011, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC). These numbers reflect the combined total from IDC's Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker, Mobile Phone Tracker, and Media Tablet Tracker.
