EchoStar XVI shipped to Baikonur

Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) announced that the EchoStar XVI satellite, designed and built for EchoStar Corporation, has arrived at the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan, where it is scheduled to be launched aboard a Proton Briz M vehicle provided by International Launch Services (ILS).

Indra continues work on Galileo ground segment

Indra said its technology supports the management and control of the two new Galileo satellites launched on 12 October. Under the technical supervision of the European Space Agency, the company has developed key stations and elements of the ground segment of the European global positioning system.

Boeing, AFRL laser enhancing space situational awareness

A sodium guide star laser built by Boeing and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) began operating recently on a telescope at Kirtland Air Force Base, greatly increasing the ability of AFRL scientists to acquire detailed images of objects in Earth orbit, Boeing said.

Eutelsat files request for arbitration against SES

Eutelsat Communications said it filed a request for arbitration against SES with the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.
