SES-8 launch now NET 1 November

The launch of SES-8 aboard a Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral is now scheduled for no earlier than 1 November between 2228 and 2332 UTC. According to Aviation Week, SES is discussing the recent Falcon 9 upper stage re-ignition problem with SpaceX ahead of the launch, which was previously scheduled for late October.

WGS-5 completes in-orbit testing

The fifth Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellite built by Boeing, which was launched in May, has completed on-orbit testing and is now being operated by the U.S. Air Force.

MDA to supply key Mars rover elements on European mission

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. announced that it has started work under two Authorisations to Proceed, totalling approximately C$2.5 million, to provide key systems on the European Space Agency’s (ESA) flagship ExoMars programme.

Teledyne signs DLR as first space imaging platform partner

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated announced that its subsidiary, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. signed a memorandum of agreement with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) for DLR to develop an instrument for Teledyne’s digital imaging platform, the Multi-User System for Earth Sensing (MUSES) which will be mounted on the International Space Station.
