Amazonas 4A anomaly under investigation

Following the launch of the Amazonas 4A from Kourou on board Arianespace’s Ariane 5 ECA launch vehicle and its subsequent positioning in the geostationary orbit, an anomaly has been detected in the satellite’s performance related to the power subsystem.

NASA signs agreement with SpaceX for use of launch pad

NASA has signed a property agreement with Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) for use and occupancy of Kennedy Space Center’s historic Launch Complex 39A. It will serve as a platform for SpaceX to support their commercial launch activities.

DigitalGlobe, Inc. announced that DigitalGlobe and MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. will co-operate to offer combined optical and synthetic aperture radar satellite data solutions to their respective defence and intelligence customers around the world.

Google buys ‘atmospheric satellite’ company

Google Inc has acquired solar-powered drone maker Titan Aerospace. Titan’s “Atmospheric satellites could help bring Internet access to millions of people, and help solve other problems, including disaster relief and environmental damage like deforestation,” Google said in a statement.
