Ariane 5 on track for launch on 27 January

Build-up of the initial Ariane 5 to be launched in 2016 has begun at the Spaceport in French Guiana. With lift-off scheduled on 27 January, the Ariane 5 is to loft Intelsat 29e – the first of the Intelsat EpicNG high throughput satellites.

Aerojet Rocketdyne gets contract to define standards for 3D-printed engines

Aerojet Rocketdyne, a subsidiary of Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings, Inc., received a US$6 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to define the standards that will be used to qualify additively manufactured components for use in liquid-fuelled rocket engine applications.

MBRSC completes design for UAE’s KhalifaSat

Dubai-based Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) has completed the Critical Design Review for the KhalifaSat Engineering Model (EM) as well as the the satellite’s flight software.

Kratos to monitor commercial satellite bandwidth for U.S. military

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. announced that its SAT Corporation subsidiary will provide expanded end-to-end satellite RF monitoring, interference detection, geolocation and mitigation services to the Joint Functional Component Command for Space (JFCC Space).

Inmarsat confirms global commercial service introduction for GX

Inmarsat plc confirmed that global Commercial Service Introduction (CSI) was achieved during December 2015 for its new Global Xpress (GX) constellation, which is formed of three Ka-band, high-speed mobile broadband communications satellites.
