PSLV fails to deploy IRNSS-1H

The launch of India’s latest navigation satellite onboard its polar rocket failed following a technical glitch. The rocket’s payload fairing failed to separate, meaning the satellite was trapped inside it and could not be deployed.

Kuaizhou-11 to send six satellites into space

China’s Kuaizhou-11 solid-fuelled carrier rocket will send six satellites into space in its first mission, according to the rocket’s developer and producer China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp (CASIC).

AsiaSat 9 flown to Baikonur

The AsiaSat 9 satellite for Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited (AsiaSat) of Hong Kong, arrived at the Baikonur Cosmdrome in Kazakhstan aboard an Antonov cargo jet on 27 August in preparation for mission integration and launch aboard an ILS Proton Briz M launch vehicle in September. AsiaSat 9 will be the third ILS Proton launch in 2017.

Start of Sentinel-5p launch campaign imminent

ESA’s Sentinel-5p satellite, part of the European Commission’s Copernicus programme and manufactured by prime contractor Airbus Defence and Space in Stevenage, is currently awaiting transportation to its launch site, Plesetsk Cosmdrome in Northern Russia.

In-orbit testing of EchoStar XXI successfully completed

EchoStar Corporation announced the successful completion of in-orbit testing and handover of the EchoStar XXI satellite from manufacturer Space Systems Loral (SSL) to EchoStar’s satellite operations team who manages flight operations via EchoStar XXI’s primary satellite Earth station located in Griesheim, Germany and a secondary station in Rambouillet, France.
