India shoots down satellite in ASAT test

India successfully tested an indigenously-developed anti-satellite (A-SAT) missile, shooting down a low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite. The announcement about the test was made in a national broadcast by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the action was not directed against any country and the satellite was a pre-determined target orbiting at an altitude of 300 km.

First Chinese private orbital launch fails

Rocket: OS-M1 “Chongqing-Liangjiang Star,” Payload: Lingque-1B; Date: 27 March 2019, 0932 UTC; Launch site: Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, China. The rocket failed after separation of the first stage one minute into flight.

Singapore Technologies Engineering to take over Newtec

Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) announced that its subsidiary Singapore Technologies Engineering (Europe) Ltd, has entered into a conditional share purchase agreement to acquire a 100% ownership in Newtec Group NV, an established Belgium-based company in the satellite communications industry.
