WildBlue 1 shipped to Kourou

Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) has delivered WildBlue-1 to the Arianespace spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, where it is scheduled for launch aboard an Ariane 5 ECA in early December, along with SES Americom’s AMC 18.

Stuck solar array forces MGS into safe mode

NASA’s Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) has entered safe mode after problems with a solar panel motor. Communication with the spacecraft has been intermittent over the past days.

Update: Proton M/Briz M lifts off with Badr 4

Rocket: Proton M/Briz M; Payload: Badr 4 (Arabsat 4B); Date: 8 November 2006, 2001 UTC; Launch Site: Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The satellite was successfully put in geostationary transfer orbit about four hours after lift-off.
