Boeing ships MEASAT-3 to Baikonur

The MEASAT-3 communications satellite has been shipped from the Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems satellite manufacturing facility to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, where it will be readied for a December launch aboard an International Launch Services Proton M/Briz M rocket.

Search for MGS continues, now with European help

Attempts to receive a signal from Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) using NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity have so far been unsuccessful. Meanwhile, ESA has agreed to use its Mars Express to help find MGS.

SinoSat 2 failure confirmed

Now it’s official: China’s recently launched SinoSat 2 (Xinnuo 2) has failed, its operator Sino Satellite Communications Co Ltd confirmed.
