Australia Network renews contract with Intelsat

Intelsat announced that Australia Network, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s international television channel, has renewed its multi-year contract with Intelsat, and expanded the contract to include transmission services on an additional satellite.

Latest GPS satellite ready

The newest modernised Global Positioning System Block IIR (GPS IIR-M) satellite, designed and built by Lockheed Martin , has been declared fully operational by the U.S. Air Force following successful on-orbit deployment and checkout of all spacecraft systems.

German spy satellite launched by Russian rocket

Rocket: Kosmos 3M; Payload: SAR-Lupe 1; Date: 19 December 2006, 1400 UTC; Launch Site: Plesetsk, Russia. Germany’s first spy satellite was successfully placed in a near-polar 500 km orbit, inclined at 98 degrees.
