European satellite radio prototype demonstrated

ESA and its partners have demonstrated a prototype of what the agency called “the multimedia car radio of the future,” a system that (unlike U.S. satellite radio) uses existing Ku-band satellites and requires no terrestrial repeaters.

STEREO spacecraft complete lunar swing-by

NASA’s twin STEREO (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory) spacecraft completed a series of complex manoeuvres on 21 January to position the spacecraft in their mission orbits. The spacecraft will be in position to produce the first 3-D images of the Sun by April.
