Solar flares may disturb GPS during next solar max

During an unprecedented solar eruption last December, researchers at Cornell University confirmed solar radio bursts can have a serious impact on the Global Positioning System (GPS) and other communication technologies using radio waves.

Lockheed Martin team completes MUOS review

Lockheed Martin announced that it has successfully completed on-schedule the critical design review phase of the U.S. Navy’s Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) and has made significant progress on the production readiness phase for the next generation narrowband tactical satellite communications system.
