EU clears Thales’ plans to buy Alcatel’s satellite business

The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition by Thales of Alcatel’s shareholdings in Alcatel Alenia Space (AAS) and Telespazio, currently jointly controlled by Alcatel and Finmeccanica.
