Boeing said it successfully completed a critical Global Positioning System (GPS) Space Segment III System Design Review this month.

The Galaxy 17 satellite, for which Thales Alenia Space is prime contractor, is ready for launch. The satellite will be launched on 3 May from the launch site in Kourou, French Guiana, with an Ariane 5 rocket that will also carry Astra 1L.

Space Exploration Technology Corp. has been granted a five-year license to launch rockets from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, the U.S. Air Force said in a statement.
