The Galaxy 17 satellite, for which Thales Alenia Space is prime contractor, is ready for launch. The satellite will be launched on 3 May from the launch site in Kourou, French Guiana, with an Ariane 5 rocket that will also carry Astra 1L.

Orbital Sciences Corporation announced that its Pegasus space launch vehicle delivered NASA’s Aeronomy of Ice in the Mesosphere (AIM) scientific satellite into its targeted orbit approximately 600 km above the Earth, inclined at 97.77 degrees to the equator.
