Astro books 13 Measat 3 transponders

Astro All Asia Networks Plc’s (Astro) subsidiary, Measat Broadcast Network Systems Sdn. Bhd. (MBNS), has entered into a conditional agreement with Measat Satellite Systems Sdn Bhd for the utilisation of transponder capacity on the Measat-3 satellite (M3) in a deal worth MYR1.33 billion (EUR288 million, US$387 million).

Intelsat launches global maritime solution

Intelsat Ltd. announced the launch of its new Network Broadband Global Maritime service, the latest addition to Intelsat’s GlobalConnex portfolio of services, as well as the signing of a multi-year distribution agreement with Schlumberger.

MDA enters into research agreement with NGA

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. has entered into a US$775,000 agreement with the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to assess the change detection potential enabled by Radarsat-2 imagery.

The winner of the latest Intelsat auction is BC Partners Ltd. The European private equity firm has agreed to buy a majority of the shares of Intelsat Ltd.’s parent company, Intelsat Holdings, Ltd.

USAF awards General Dynamics US$6 million for AIRSS work

The U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center has awarded General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics , a US$6.4 million contract modification to continue work on the Alternative Infrared Satellite System (AIRSS) programme.

Lockheed to deliver two Japanese satellites

Lockheed Martin said it is poised to deliver two spacecraft in the third quarter of 2007 for two customers, the Broadcasting Satellite System Corporation (B-SAT) and the JSAT Corporation (JSAT), both based in Japan.

NASA signs commercial space transportation agreements
