The last in a series of eight modernised Global Positioning System Block IIR (GPS IIR-M) satellites built by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Air Force is set to launch aboard a Delta II rocket on 17 August from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. In related news, the root cause of a problem with the satellite’s predecessor [as far as the launch order is concerned] has been identified.
