The digital signal is much more stable offering top quality pictures on your TV set. Entire nations are now switching over to the digital signal; in particular The United Kingdom is set to become totally digital by 2012.

14 more GLONASS-M to be launched

Russia plans to launch 14 GLONASS-M satellites until the end of 2012, according to Nikolay Testoyedov, general designer and general director of Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems.

First Soyuz to launch from French Guiana in Q4 2010

The Soyuz Consultation Committee, comprising representatives of the Russian space agency Roskosmos, the European Space Agency (ESA), the French space agency CNES and Arianespace, met on 11 May in French Guiana. It confirmed that the inaugural launch of Soyuz from the Guiana Space Center would take place during the fourth quarter of 2010.

Lockheed Martin to build Vietnam’s second satellite

Lockheed Martin announced the award of a contract by Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) of Vietnam to build the Vinasat-2 satellite. In-orbit delivery is slated for the second quarter of 2012. Financial terms were not disclosed.
