Soyuz TMA-04M delayed up to six weeks

Russia plans to postpone its next manned launch to the International Space Station (ISS) by at least a month, the head of its space agency’s manned programmes was quoted as saying.

Fobos-Grunt killed by radiation-susceptible COTS components?

The head of Russia’s space agency said that cosmic radiation was the most likely cause of the failure of a Mars moon probe that crashed to Earth this month, and suggested that a “low-quality imported component” may have been vulnerable to the radiation.

Engine failure blamed for Meridian satellite crash

The crash of Russia’s Meridian communications satellite was caused by the malfunction of one of the satellite carrier rocket’s engines, Russia’s Federal Space Agency Roskosmos said.

Mitsubishi Electric to co-operate with investigation

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced that starting today, the company is undergoing investigations by Japan’s Ministry of Defense (MOD), Cabinet Satellite Intelligence Center (CSICE) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) following revelations that the company overcharged the three parties for expenses.

Ball Aerospace names Robert D. Strain as Chief Operating Officer
