Kepler reaction wheel may still show friction

Smartphone satellite ‘STRaND-1’ operational in orbit

STRaND-1, the nanosatellite carrying a smartphone, has been declared operational in orbit by the mission team from the University of Surrey’s Surrey Space Centre (SSC) and Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL).

Millennium Space Systems to design military weather satellites

Millennium Space Systems announced award of a contract from the United States Air Force (USAF) Space and Missile Center’s Defense Weather Systems Directorate for research on Systems and Spacecraft for space-based weather sensing.

SES to deliver infrastructure and services to Galileo

Indian demand for transponders to outpace domestic supply: CASBAA

The number of satellite transponders required by Indian TV broadcasters and DTH operators is expected to double or triple over the next five years, according to a new report from CASBAA, the apex Asian association of the cable and satellite television industry.

Sentinel-3 platform delivered

An important milestone has been reached for ESA’s Sentinel-3 mission. The satellite platform has been delivered to the prime contractor in France where the instruments will be installed and tested along with the numerous components that make up this sophisticated new mission to monitor Earth.

Curiosity rover recovering

NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity has transitioned from precautionary “safe mode” to active status on the path of recovery from a memory glitch last week. Resumption of full operations is anticipated by next week.
