Radarsat-2 information supply contracts extended

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. has signed three contract amendments with international customers to provide information collected by the Radarsat-2 satellite. The contracts total approximately C$8 million.

Criminal investigation into 2010 Proton crash closed

Russian prosecutors have wrapped up a criminal case against four employees of Energia Rocket and Space Corporation complicit in the crash of a Proton booster with three GLONASS satellites and sent the case files to a court of law.

ISRO to launch backup satellite to replace IRNSS-1A

India will launch one of its back up navigation satellites this year as a replacement to IRNSS-1A satellite, whose three atomic clocks have failed, ISRO said. The agency denied the existence of similar problems with the rubidium atomic clocks in another navigation satellite.

Boeing, USAF extend partnership to sustain GPS constellations

Boeing and the U.S. Air Force recently signed a Global Positioning System (GPS) sustainment agreement under which Boeing will support GPS IIA and IIF satellites currently on orbit for the next five years.

New Horizons refines course for next flyby

NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft has completed a short propulsive manoeuvre to refine its track toward a New Year’s Day 2019 flyby past 2014 MU69, a Kuiper Belt object (KBO) some 6.4 billion kilometers from Earth.

Progress MS-03 cargo spacecraft has completed its mission

The new-series cargo transportation spacecraft Progress MS-03, developed and built by RSC Energia, has been successfully undocked from the International Space Station (ISS), de-orbited, and brought down in the Pacific Ocean as scheduled.

EchoStar announces exchange agreement for tracking stock
