Kestrel Eye IIM microsatellite deployed from ISS

NanoRacks said it successfully deployed the Kestrel Eye IIM (KE2M) microsatellite via the company’s Kaber Microsatellite Deployer (Kaber) from the International Space Station. This is the largest satellite that NanoRacks has deployed to date, and the first deployed from the Kaber deployer.

Aerojet Rocketdyne test-fires RS-25 engine

Aerojet Rocketdyne has test-fired its RS-25 engine, E2063, for 500 seconds at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. This is the second RS-25 engine Aerojet Rocketdyne has tested for NASA’s second Exploration Mission (EM-2).

UrtheCast, E-GEOS collaborate to offer optical and SAR products

UrtheCast Corp., its subsidiary Deimos Imaging and e-GEOS (a company owned by Telespazio and the Italian Space Agency) announced a strategic partnership to offer a combination of joint optical and radar sensors with ground stations.

NASA awards launch services contract for Sentinel-6A mission

NASA has selected Space Exploration Technologies to provide launch services for the Sentinel-6A mission. Launch is currently targeted for November 2020, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 Full Thrust rocket from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

Iridium announces date for 4th Iridium NEXT launch

Iridium Communications Inc. announced that the fourth Iridium NEXT launch has been targeted by SpaceX for 23 December 2017 at 0126 UTC from Vandenberg Air Force Base.
