Russia to launch serial production of Angara rockets

The serial production of Angara rockets will begin from 2023 at the Polyot Production Association in the West Siberian city of Omsk from 2023, CEO of Russia’s State Space Corporation Roskosmos Dmitry Rogozin said.

ATLAS Space Operations to support BlackSky constellation

ATLAS Space Operations, Inc., a company that provides satellite communications as a service through a software-driven, high data flow global antenna network, announced that BlackSky has selected ATLAS to provide telemetry, commanding, and data support for its high-revisit, Earth imaging constellation of satellites.

Next Galileo launch set for 25 July

For its fourth launch of the year, Arianespace will orbit four more satellites (satellites 23 to 26) for the Galileo constellation. This mission is being performed on behalf of the European Commission under a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA).

MDA announces acquisition of Neptec Design Group

MDA, a Maxar Technologies company (formerly MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.), announced it has acquired Neptec Design Group Ltd. (Neptec), an electro-optical and electro-mechanical systems and high-performance intelligent Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) company for C$42 million, comprised of approximately C$8 million in cash and the balance in Maxar common shares.

P120C solid rocket motor successfully tested

The P120C was successfully tested on 16 July in Kourou, French Guiana, on the BEAP test bench for solid rocket motors, operated by the French space agency CNES. This successful test of the first P120C ever produced is a major step in the development of the future European launchers, Ariane 6 and Vega-C.

NanoRacks completes 5th external Cygnus deployment

NanoRacks on 15 July successfully deployed six CubeSats from the company’s CubeSat deployer mounted on the outside of the Cygnus spacecraft. This brings the overall count to 223 small satellites deployed into low-Earth orbit.
