AEHF-4 arrives in Florida, prepares for launch

The U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) programme completed a major programme milestone on 27 July successfully delivering the AEHF-4 satellite to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

Aeolus pre-launch details

For Arianespace’s fifth launch of the year, and the first in 2018 with Vega, the company will orbit the Aeolus satellite – the world’s first space mission to acquire profiles of the Earth’s wind on a global scale, on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA).

Swedish Space Corporation supports handover of 4 Galileo spacecraft

Engineering services teams of spacecraft controllers, spacecraft operations engineers and ground operations engineers based at the DLR GfR Galileo Control Center supported the recent operations handover of four Galileo satellites. The handover has taken place after a successful LEOP completion by CNES.

Parker Solar Probe successfully launched

Rocket: Delta IV Heavy; Payload: Parker Solar Probe [formerly Solar Probe Plus]; Date: 12 August 2018, 0931 UTC; Launch site: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, USA. The launch was scrubbed on Saturday due to a violation of a launch limit, resulting in a hold. There was not enough time remaining in the window to recycle.

Aeolus encapsulated into Vega launcher

Aeolus, the European Space Agency’s wind sensing satellite, has been encapsulated into the Vega launcher at the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou ready for launch on 21 August at 2120 UTC.

Rocket Lab chooses RUAG Space as preferred supplier

RUAG Space signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) creating a new agreement in the small launcher market, in support of flying RUAG separation systems on the Electron Launch Vehicle.
