Xplornet announces agreement for Hughes JUPITER 3 satellite

Canadian rural broadband service provider Xplornet Communications Inc. has entered into a lifetime agreement with Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes), for substantially all of Canadian satellite broadband capacity on Hughes’ next-generation JUPITER 3 (aka EchoStar XXIV) Ultra High Density Satellite.

SpaceX Dragon capsule reportedly damaged during test preparations

SpaceX suffered an anomaly in one of its Crew Dragon capsules while conducting engine tests at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Saturday. “The initial tests completed successfully but the final test resulted in an anomaly on the test stand,” the company said in a statement.

China launches Beidou 3 navsat

Rocket: Chang Zheng 3b/G2; Payload: Beidou-3I1Q (IGSO-1) [Beidou 44]; Date: 20 April 2019, 1441 UTC; Launch site: Xichang Satellite Launch Center, China. This is the 44th satellite of the constellation and the first Beidou-3 satellite in inclined geosynchronous Earth orbit.

Cygnus completes rendezvous and berthing with International Space Station

Northrop Grumman Corporation announced that the “S.S. Roger Chaffee” Cygnus spacecraft successfully completed its rendezvous and berthing manoeuvres with the International Space Station. The mission marks the company’s 11th successful berthing with the orbiting laboratory.
