The recent test launch for Lockheed Martin at New Mexico’s Spaceport America was that of a space plane prototype. And while officials earlier called the launch a success, the flight that followed it wasn’t one, according to SPACE.com.

New Mexico Spaceport Authority (NMSA) officials announced a successful launch of a test flight vehicle for Lockheed Martin by UP Aerospace from Spaceport America on 12 August.

GMV said it has released version 6.0 of its hifly Satellite Control System.

Raytheon Company said it has partnered with The Boeing Company to bid for the U.S. Air Force’s Counterspace Command and Control Sustainment contract.

As the first test flight of the Ares I spacecraft (currently scheduled for spring 2009) approaches, NASA has set up a web site with latest information about that launch.
