Americom Government Services, Inc. (AGS) and Wheat International, a provider of long-range wireless services, announced that the companies set a new documented record for mobile broadband Internet services recently during a public test of the TeleSea Network.

Hughes Network Systems has signed multiple contracts worth almost US$60 million to develop and supply a high-speed mobile data system to Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications.

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced an agreement to supply Optus with additional SkyEdge hub infrastructure and several thousand VSATs. The network will deliver broadband services to sites across rural and remote Australia and New Zealand.

iDirect Technologies, a company of Vision Technologies Systems Inc., has been selected by Elara Networks, a satellite network service provider in Latin America, to provide the technology platform to Farmacias Similares, a privately held pharmacy chain based in Mexico.
