Eutelsat said that the BBC Persian, Deutsche Welle and Voice of America Persian TV channels targeted at Iran have again been the target of deliberate jamming.

SAT Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Integral Systems, Inc., announced that it has been chosen by Argentina’s Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales (AR-SAT) to provide Satellite Monitoring and Interference Detection and Analysis System in support of its ARSAT-1 satellite and ground stations.

Intelsat S.A. announced an agreement with Turksat A.S. which will result in enhanced satellite capacity serving the Middle East region.

Turkish pay-TV platform Digiturk has signed an agreement for the lease renewal of 12 transponders until 2021 at Eutelsat’s 7 degrees East video neighbourhood occupied by its W3A satellite.

O3b Networks Limited has signed a contract with ViaSat Inc. for the production and installation of Ka-band infrastructure. The value of the contract is approximately US$47 million.

Orbcomm Inc. said it has completed an agreement with Lloyd’s List Intelligence (previously Lloyd’s MIU) for Satellite AIS data [i.e. ship tracking] services.

Intelsat announced that Qatar Telecom (Qtel) signed a multi-year capacity contract on Intelsat’s recently-launched Intelsat 15 satellite (IS-15), located at 85 degrees East.

Eutelsat Communications has signed a major contract with UPSTAR Comunicacoes for satellite capacity for the broadcasting of ZAP pay-TV platform, expected to launch shortly in Angola.
