Loon’s balloons to support Telesat’s LEO constellation

Telesat and Loon, a subsidiary of Google’s parent company Alphabet, announced they have entered into an agreement under which Loon will deliver a network operating system design that Telesat can use to support its global low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.

Ball Aerospace tests electronically-steered antenna with Telesat’s LEO satellite

Ball Aerospace has successfully completed the first communication demonstration between Telesat’s LEO Phase 1 satellite and Ball’s fully electronically-steered flat panel antenna at Telesat’s Allan Park ground station in Ontario, Canada.

Eurobroadband Infrastructure launches KA-SAT partner programme

Eurobroadband Infrastructure (EBI), a subsidiary of Eutelsat, is launching a Preferred Partner Programme for the distribution of capacity on its KA-SAT satellite. The programme aims at revitalising the distribution of KA-SAT capacity to boost the deployment of Internet access via satellite.

Kratos to build Ka-band gateways for Sky Perfect JSAT

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. has been awarded a contract by Sky Perfect JSAT Corporation (SJC) to design and build gateways for SJC’s new High Throughput Satellite (HTS) network. The JCSAT-18 HTS satellite, launching in 2019, will deliver broadband and mobile communication services to Asia Pacific and Eastern Russia.
