MSV to further extend current generation satellite services

Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) announced plans to further extend its current generation network voice and mobile data services through 31 December 2012, and will offer these services on its next generation hybrid satellite-terrestrial communications network slated to be launched in 2010.

Intelsat General awarded X-band satellite services contract

Intelsat General Corporation has been awarded a contract by DRS Technologies Inc. to provide X-band satellite connectivity, fibre and teleport services in the Middle East using Intelsat infrastructure and the Skynet satellite fleet owned and operated by Paradigm Secure Communications.

Radio glitch delays Phoenix schedule by one day

NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter again received information from the Phoenix Mars Lander Tuesday evening and relayed the information to Earth after an earlier glitch with the orbiter’s UHF radio system.
