SAT-GE, a provider of C and Ku-band satellite coverage stretching across the Pacific Ocean Region, announced the provision of satellite capacity across Eastern Indonesia for Indonesian telco PT Telkom.

Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited (AsiaSat) announced a full transponder C-band MCPC (Multiple Channels per Carrier) technology platform to provide video, audio, data and IP based broadcast services on AsiaSat 3S at AsiaSat’s Tai Po Earth Station in Hong Kong.

BTV+ said it has successfully commissioned a suite of high-definition satellite uplink equipment located at their headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

SES Astra has signed an agreement with the Spanish pay-TV operator Sogecable to use an additional transponder.

EchoStar Communications Corporation and its subsidiary, EchoStar FSS Corporation (EFSSC), announced the launch of ViP-TV service, through which EFFSC has the ability to transport over 300 channels of secure broadcast quality television programming via satellite.

SES Astra said it has moved its satellite Astra 1E from the orbital position 19.2 degrees East to 23.5 degrees East to replace the satellite Astra 1D which is approaching the end of its design life.

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) and Glowlink Communications Technology, Inc. announced they have won a satellite hardware and services contract valued at approximately US$8 million to support the spectrum management of the Wideband Global SATCOM Satellite (WGS) system and to continue support for the monitoring and service of the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) satellites.
