SES announced a new strategic partnership with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom), Indonesia’s largest satellite telecommunications services company. Telkom will provide connectivity to the Indonesian market via capacity on the recently-launched SES-9 satellite, SES’s latest and largest spacecraft for the Asia-Pacific region.

A new purpose built satellite ground station has been established in Adelaide, to land Airbus Defence and Space’s Skynet secure military satellite communications. The Australian facility extends an existing chain of teleports in France, Germany, Norway, the UK and the USA, providing global coverage in both fixed and mobile satellite services.

SES has signed a multi-year agreement with Cable Channels Nigeria Ltd. (CCNL) to provide a video platform via SES’s prime orbital position 28.2 degrees East.

SES S.A. announced it will provide two anchor stations for the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO).

Yahsat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tele10 Group, a regional broadcast and Internet service provider, to discuss collaborations for improving Internet connectivity in Rwanda, Burundi and East Democratic Republic of the Congo. The MoU comes ahead of Yahsat taking delivery of its third satellite, Al Yah 3.

Eutelsat Communications and Facebook have selected Hughes Network Systems, LLC to supply its JUPITER System as the technology platform for satellite broadband services that both companies are preparing to launch in Sub-Saharan Africa.

SES S.A. announced a satellite broadband deal with Facebook to provide high-speed broadband connectivity services to Sub-Saharan Africa. This agreement will support Facebook’s Express Wi-Fi programme that is part of their Internet.org initiative to connect the world.

Eutelsat Communications announced its selection of Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. solutions and services, to power a new range of broadband services in Western Russia.
