SES and Telkom form strategic partnership

SES announced a new strategic partnership with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom), Indonesia’s largest satellite telecommunications services company. Telkom will provide connectivity to the Indonesian market via capacity on the recently-launched SES-9 satellite, SES’s latest and largest spacecraft for the Asia-Pacific region.

Airbus Defence and Space opens Skynet ground station in Australia

A new purpose built satellite ground station has been established in Adelaide, to land Airbus Defence and Space’s Skynet secure military satellite communications. The Australian facility extends an existing chain of teleports in France, Germany, Norway, the UK and the USA, providing global coverage in both fixed and mobile satellite services.

Yahsat and Tele10 enter MoU to discuss opportunities for Yahclick

Yahsat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tele10 Group, a regional broadcast and Internet service provider, to discuss collaborations for improving Internet connectivity in Rwanda, Burundi and East Democratic Republic of the Congo. The MoU comes ahead of Yahsat taking delivery of its third satellite, Al Yah 3.

Eutelsat and Facebook choose Hughes JUPITER system

SES to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to Facebook in Africa

SES S.A. announced a satellite broadband deal with Facebook to provide high-speed broadband connectivity services to Sub-Saharan Africa. This agreement will support Facebook’s Express Wi-Fi programme that is part of their Internet.org initiative to connect the world.
