SES S.A. announced that it has launched a new satellite data network, SES Plus, that will offer customised products and solutions to tackle the evolving needs of the markets.

McMurdo has been selected by a Northern Africa search and rescue (SAR) authority to deploy their next-generation MEOSAR (Medium Earth Orbit Search and Rescue) satellite-aided SAR system. The contract is valued at over EUR4 million (US$4.5 million) with a performance period of 16 months.

Kymeta Corporation and Intelsat S.A. said they will combine Intelsat’s space-based communication with Kymeta’s antenna technology to bring high speed connectivity to cars on a global basis.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. announced that its SAT Corporation subsidiary will provide expanded end-to-end satellite RF monitoring, interference detection, geolocation and mitigation services to the Joint Functional Component Command for Space (JFCC Space).

Inmarsat plc confirmed that global Commercial Service Introduction (CSI) was achieved during December 2015 for its new Global Xpress (GX) constellation, which is formed of three Ka-band, high-speed mobile broadband communications satellites.
