MartiSat takes fourth Astra transponder

SES announced that Georgian mobile and telecommunication company MagtiSat signed an agreement for a fourth transponder at the Astra 31.5 degrees East orbital position after the first year of operations of MagtiSat, Georgia’s first domestic direct-to-home (DTH) satellite platform.

DirecTV-1R backs up Bonum-1

RSCC has successfully switched the Tricolor NV and NTV+ telecast packages from the Bonum-1 to the DirecTV-1R satellite. The switchover was performed on 17 January 2013. Both satellites are currently stationed in the 56 degrees East orbital slot which has been assigned to Russia for direct broadcasting.

Thales Alenia Space delivers 25 antenna dishes for ALMA astronomical observatory

Thales Alenia Space announced that it has completed the delivery of 25 dishes, each 12 meters in diameter, for the antennas making up the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) astronomical observatory in northern Chile.

Spacecom and Magyar Telekom sign new agreement for more Amos bandwidth

GlobeCast to provide YahLive with satellite signal monitoring services

YahLive, the Abu Dhabi, UAE-based HD television satellite platform for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and GlobeCast announced a new partnership in which GlobeCast will provide YahLive with a 24/7 monitoring and reporting service for YahLive’s satellite signals (video, audio, and data) across the MENA region.

Lockheed Martin completes MUOS waveform

Lockheed Martin has completed and delivered the software waveform for the U.S. Navy’s Mobile User Objective System (MUOS). The new waveform will enable military satellite communications terminal providers to deploy equipment that takes full advantage of enhanced MUOS capabilities.

Anadolu Networks to launch TV platform at 31.5 degrees East
