Cargo loading has commenced in French Guiana for the fifth – and final – European Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV), which is being prepared for a 2014 launch from the Spaceport on Arianespace’s next Ariane 5 servicing mission to the International Space Station.

NASA has signed a property agreement with Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) for use and occupancy of Kennedy Space Center’s historic Launch Complex 39A. It will serve as a platform for SpaceX to support their commercial launch activities.

Rocket: Soyuz-U; Payload: Progress M-23M (ISS Progress 55); Date: 9 April 2014, 1526 UTC, Launch site: Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The unmanned Progress vessel docked with the ISS almost exactly 6 hours after lift-off, using the automatic Kurs system.

A 5-percent scale model of the Space Launch System (SLS) core stage is undergoing acoustic testing at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Rocket: PSLV-C24; Payload: IRNSS-1B; Time: 4 April 2014, 1144 UTC; Launch site: Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota, India. It was the twenty fifth consecutively successful mission of PSLV.
