Space shuttle Discovery is scheduled to begin an 11-day mission to the International Space Station with a launch at 2150 UTC on 24 February from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The STS-133 mission is Discovery’s final scheduled flight.

The United Arab Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST) has signed a contract with Kosmotras (ISCK) for the launch of the United Arab Emirates’ second remote sensing satellite, DubaiSat-2.

Tonight’s Ariane 5 mission with Europe’s second Automated Transfer Vehicle has been postponed following a hold during the final countdown at the Spaceport in French Guiana.

The launch of NASA’s Glory spacecraft aboard an Orbital Sciences Taurus XL rocket is scheduled for 23 February. Lift-off will be from Space Launch Complex 576-E at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Lift-off is targeted for 1009 UTC in the middle of a 48-second launch window.

Globalstar, Inc. said it expects to conduct the next launch of six new second-generation satellites in May plus two additional launches of six satellites per launch within 60-90 days following the previous launch.

Aerojet, along with NASA and Orbital Sciences Corporation (Orbital), conducted the acceptance hot-fire test of the second AJ26 flight engine that will power the first stage of Orbital’s Taurus II medium-class launch vehicle.
