Rocket: Zenit-3SLB; Payload: Intelsat-15; Date: 30 November 2009, 2100 UTC; Launch Site: Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The rocket lifted off successfully after a 24-hour delay. However, separation of the payload was scheduled for more than five hours after lift-off – too late for this issue.

Rocket: H-2A; Payload: IGS (exact designation unknown); Date: 28 November 2009, 0121 UTC; Launch Site: Tanegashima Space Center, Japan. Approximately 20 minutes after lift-off, the optical spy satellite separated from the rocket and entered its target orbit.

DirecTV 12 has been delivered to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan ahead of a 29 December launch, Russia’s Khrunichev Center said.

The first two Soyuz launchers have arrived in French Guiana. They will be used to inaugurate service with this medium-lift workhorse vehicle next year from the Soyuz launch pad near Sinnamary.

The launch of Eutelsat’s W7 satellite aboard a Proton-M was delayed over repeated changes in schedule by Russian space officials, Kazcosmos said in a statement on its web site. The spacecraft itself is healthy, though, and will soon be transferred to geostationary orbit.
