Globalstar completes French authorisation of new satellite constellation

Globalstar, Inc. announced that the French Minister in charge of Space Operations has issued to Globalstar its final authorisation to operate its second generation constellation of satellites.

LightSquared/GPS test results delayed

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has granted LightSquared a two-week extension to report on recent tests that aimed to determine whether its proposed high-speed wireless broadband network would interfere with GPS systems in the U.S.

SMOS gains clearer view as illegal transmitters shut down

A major international effort to shut down radio signals that have, at times, been blinding the instrument on ESA’s SMOS water satellite is producing a marked improvement in the quality of the mission’s data, the agency said.
