Thai General wants satellites back

Thailand’s Council for National Security (CNS) chairman Gen. Sonthi Boonyaratkalin said he wished to take back control of Thai satellites operated by Shin Satellite, which was sold to Singapore’s Temasek Holdings in a politically controversial deal.

MSV’s patent collection grows again

Mobile Satellite Ventures has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 7,174,127 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The ‘127 patent is the eighteenth patent to issue to MSV relating to the company’s satellite- terrestrial hybrid system including Ancillary Terrestrial Component (ATC) technology.

FCC grants milestone extension to ICO

ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Limited announced that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has granted ICO’s request for milestone extensions in connection with the construction and launch of ICO G1, the company’s geostationary satellite for ICO North America that is to provide 2 GHz mobile satellite service (MSS).

More problems for European Mars rover, report
